"What's so great about Garsington Opera is how inclusive it is. I've never had a singing lesson yet I feel comfortable."
Youth Company member

Garsington Opera's Youth Company provides young people aged 9-21 with the opportunity to develop their singing, creative skills, confidence and stage experience through the exciting world of opera. Backstage opportunities are also available for young people aged 13-21 to work with a professional designer or stage manager.

2020 World Premiere

We are delighted to be co-commissioning, with Opera North, a new opera to be performed by our Youth Opera Company on Friday 31 July 2020. Based on Oscar Wilde's The Selfish Giant, the work has been written by John Barber (composer) and Jessica Duchen (librettist). Alongside professional soloists Matthew Tansley Stiff (Giant) and Barbara Cole Walton (Linnet), solo roles will be performed by members of the Youth Company.
