2021 Season Update

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our 2021 Festival, sharing a joyous return to Wormsley. All the sets, props and costumes are under construction; the cast, technical staff and orchestras are raring to go – there is excitement in the air once more.

In the light of the present situation, we are proceeding with a socially distanced season in our theatre, audience seating and throughout our facilities, until further notice. Much as we would like to share the experience of Garsington Opera with as many people as possible, there is nothing more important than the safety and comfort of our audience, performers and staff. The Government's Roadmap, announced on 22 February, has provided further confidence that we are able to deliver our plans this summer safely and successfully.

You will be reassured to hear that we had factored the possibility of distancing into our plans from the start and we have had a wonderfully positive response since priority booking opened. Should it be possible to allow more people in safely, and in line with Government guidelines nearer the time, we will consider it.

This is new territory for us all, but we will approach the challenges with characteristic optimism and expertise remaining flexible to accommodate opportunities as they arise. Our Box Office team will manage your requests in their usual helpful way; some of the arrangements will inevitably be different this summer, but we will ensure that your experience is just as magical.

We understand you may have more questions about arrangements this summer – you are not alone! We have published answers to Frequently Asked Questions and will continue to update you as we go.

We thank you for your understanding and assistance as we navigate the coming months together.
