Adult Company

A tall man in a grey suit claps his hands above his head. He is surrounded by people clapping and smiling on stage.

Want to try something new, sing as a collective and be creative?

We offer opportunities for adults from all walks of life to create and perform together in projects and performances both at Wormsley and further afield. No audition is required for most of the projects, just an appetite to try something new, sing as a group and be creative. There are sometimes opportunities to play roles as actors in the main season productions as well as performing in your own right in the Garsington Opera Adult Company on a regular basis. Commitment to the company is only required on a project by project basis and places are fully funded.

If you didn’t get the chance to join our group audition workshop, we are planning more dates in the future, so please fill in our enquiry form and we’ll keep you in the loop!

2024 Production

Our 2024 production will see our Adult and Youth Companies come together for a Community Opera performance of A Trip to the Moon, directed by Karen Gillingham, conducted by Douglas Boyd, with music from the Philharmonia, and featuring four professional soloists.

Composed by Andrew Norman, A Trip to the Moon is based on the 1902 film of the same name by Georges Méliès; this is a fun and family-friendly opera featuring a tour de force of hapless astronomer escapades and Moonish antics!

Rehearsals will be held in venues local to High Wycombe and Garsington Studios. Production rehearsals will take place from 20 July and the final performances will be held Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 July 2024 on the main stage at Garsington Opera near Stokenchurch. Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday evenings and ad-hoc weekend days from May.
