Wycombe Women's Aid

We have delivered projects with staff and service users at Wycombe Women's Aid every year since 2014. Participants have all undertaken The Freedom Programme, designed for survivors of domestic abuse. It examines the roles playedby attitudes and beliefs on the actions of abusive partners/family members, as well as the response of the victims and survivors. It aims to help them understand what has happened to them and how to gain confidence in order to deal with abusive relationships. It also describes how children are affected by being exposed to such abuse and, very importantly, how their lives are improved when the abuse is removed.

Our creative team (director, vocal director and singer) use the Create an Opera format to deliver five two-hour sessions, on the theme of that year's focus opera (2019: Fantasio).
